U nabs privileges to 'In your garden from the Beasts'

HanksUniversal has optioned film privileges to Erik Larson's non-fiction novel "Within the Garden from the Monsters" with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman aboard to create.Hanks and Goetzman would produce through their Playtone shingle. The pic has been developed just as one starring vehicle for Hanks.It involves the real story of William Dodd, U . s . States Ambassador to Berlin and the daughter, Martha, who resided in Germany throughout an upswing from the Nazi party. While initially dismissive from the darkness gathering in the united states, the household soon grew to become conscious of the scope from the hostile atmosphere surrounding them.No author or director have yet been attached.Pic marks another Word War II effort for Playtone - the shingle created the Cinemax small-series "The Off-shore."
