TCA: Producer of New Woody Allen Doc Talks About Filmmaker Hitting The Top At 75

Ray Richmond is contributing to Deadline's coverage of TCA. Bob Weide, producer of the forthcoming four-hour Woody Allen documentary that carries the working title Seriously Funny -- The Comic Art of Wood Alllen and premieres Nov. 20-21 as part of PBS' American Masters series -- appeared this morning on a TCA panel to hype this show. Flanking him were Manhattan star Mariel Hemingway and Oscar-winning Mighty Aphrodite star Mira Sorvino as well as American Masters creator and exec producer Susan Lacy. Notably absent from the panel: Mr. Woody Allen himself. Hardly a shock. "He's in Rome right now shooting a film," Weide reasoned. "Or he'd be here," Lacy quickly added. "Right. Sure he would," Weide shot back. "As a matter of fact, I have Mister Allen right here backstage...along with Marshall McLuhan." Weide was granted unprecedented access to Allen for the film despite his being "cripplingly shy," in the producer's words. The access was the culmination of years of Weide's efforts to land Allen's participation in a look at his life and career, following him both on set and at home as well as tooling around Brooklyn to look at the haunts of his youth. But Weide couldn't have known how fortuitous his timing would be, with Allen hotter than ever thanks to the reaction to his latest film Midnight in Paris, which posted a box-office record for the veteran filmmaker. "Every time people sort of assume he's down and out or played out, along comes a Match Point, a Vicky Christina Barcelona, a Midnight in Paris, and he's back on top and no stopping him," Weide observed. "The big shock is, Woody is 75 years old, he's done a film a year for 42 years, and Midnight in Paris is his biggest moneymaker. It's going to hit $90 million worldwide." Weide continued, "Woody has the situation that as far as I know, nobody has. The people who finance his films don't even read a script. This is a precedent that wad established with his first film in 1969, Take the Money and Run. He delivered it on time and on budget, and nobody messed with him. This is the scam he's pulled off for over 40 years now." There was one uncomfortable moment during the panel when a question was asked of Hemingway -- who was 18 years old when Manhattan was shot -- if she believes his notorious love of much younger women has damaged Allen's image and career. "Well it's not a subject I like talking about tremendously," she admitted with obvious nervousness. "It's certainly been detrimental to him for a while. But he's a creative genius and...well...he's an artist and...that doesn't mean he's not an odd person, or that he makes choices we all agree with or all understand. But from my point of view, he makes sense to me."

Following a couple days of petty fights and a lot of Rachel's tears, episode finally will get lower with a good proper game play. Obviously, that isn't great news not less than one player, who's underhanded talking might have just inflated in her own face. In either case, it appears that Brendon, Rachel, Shaun and Jordan might be more tightly glued than in the past, which could not be further from things i expected at this time the other day. Ugh.Hilariously, both Adam and Dom feel particularly safe on the market simply because they have cut handles Brendon and Rachel. What's going to which means that come veto competition time, if both males believe they're only pawns. That question possibly solutions itself when Rachel informs both Adam and Dom this week is not concerning the nominations, it comes down to what goes on following the veto. She encourages these phones play tough to save themselves.Feeling under certain about his deal, Dominic ask Daniele to operate her miracle on Rachel. Daniele informs Rachel that you're ready to create a large relocate the overall game. Daniele indicates that Rachel backdoor Shaun since the whole home would support that move. Jordan takes what is the news to Rachel and Brendon, who formally choose that Daniele is no more to become reliable. What was that show during the 90's its about knights like power rangers?

It was a show when they where showing Hercules: The Legendary
Journeys.I think the show is about the middle ages time.There like
knights and the have powers,also how the story developes like the
power rangers.The face a different bad guy every show.They also have
different weapons and skills.all i remember is this guy wearing blue
he had a mace.I think there were five or four of them.I just want to
remember the show i watched it when i was a kid and loved it!

Any suggestions on good movies to watch?

I've recently been craving some really good movies to watch, some with
actual meaning behind them. Much unlike Twilight, and the sort. Some
of my favorites include 300, Batman: the Dark Night, Silence of the
Lamb, and The Eagle. 300 just because of that code of honor they held
so dear in that time. How they wouldn't let go of their pride, and of
course the end was one of the best I have ever seen. The Eagle as
well. The Dark Night because I've always had this thing for the
psychological type of stories, same with Silence of the Lamb.

Does anyone have any suggestions for any other movies that are like
the ones I have listed?
Well, since it;s being retarded and not letting me edit the original
text, I'd like to add that I LOVED Shutter Island and Repo Men. A few
of my absolute all-time favorites :D
And to that person down there who seems to share my exact tastes in
movies, I've already seen the ones you have suggested T-T I loved them
all so much, it's not even funny.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (often known as Transformers 3) is a 2011 movie within the Transformers movie collection, directed by Michael Bay and created by Steven Spielberg. people may not think that insidious was scary but i thought it was
